The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is a constitutional monarchy comprising much of the British Isles. This Union is more than 300 years old and comprises four constituent nations: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It occupies all of the island of Great Britain, the northeastern portion of the island of Ireland, and most of the remaining British Isles. The UK is an island nation but shares an open land border with Ireland. Given the short distances involved, flying is rarely the cheapest or most convenient option for domestic travel within the UK with the possible exception of between southern England and Scotland, or where a sea crossing would otherwise be involved, such as between Britain and Northern Ireland or travel to and from many Scottish islands.
Why United Kingdom?
The UK has become one of the top destinations to study around the world. With traditions of excellence dating back hundreds of years, high-class institutions on every corner, and much more flexibility than many other countries, the United Kingdom has much to offer international students that other English-speaking countries cannot.
From world-recognized universities to innovative teaching approaches and the leading minds who deliver them, the UK has what you need to reach your potential.
The UK has been the preferred choice for some of the most important minds in history. One in four world leaders has studied in the UK, so if you’re dreaming of achieving big things, then studying in the UK is the right decision.
